Generating Steel Member Restraints

In addition to , Steel Members must have either internal restraints or effective lengths defined to carry out buckling checks across member subspans. There are two ways of assigning Steel Member Internal restraints.

• Manually, by editing them from the Steel Properties page for a given Member. These can then be propagated to other Members using the Property Pane
• Automatically, while a Design Task is executed. When generating restraints automatically, GSA uses the parameters defined in the Design Specifications.
