Navigation
When you open AdSec, you are presented with the main workspace and a navigation menu on the left-hand side of the application. This navigation menu provides access to all core areas of AdSec.
Navigation pane
The navigation menu is organised into the following main tabs:
Setup
Use the Setup tab to define project-wide settings, such as:
- Units
- Design code
These settings apply to all sections within the current file.
Materials
The Materials tab allows you to view and edit the material models used in your sections.
Here you can review material properties and adjust model parameters that affect section behaviour and analysis results.
Sections
The Sections tab is where you create, manage, and analyse sections.
When you first open this tab, you will see the Section list, which displays all sections defined in the current model.
Opening a section
To open a section, click anywhere on its row in the Section list. This will open the selected section and give access to its definition and analysis views.
Section views
Within a section, there are two main views:
Definition
The Definition view is used to define the components that make up the section, including geometry, materials, and reinforcement.
Analysis
The Analysis view provides access to the following result views:
- Table – apply loads and view summary results
- Case details – view detailed results for individual load cases
- Interaction diagram – view the section interaction diagram
- More charts – view moment–stiffness and moment–curvature charts
Returning to the section list
To return to the Section list at any time, select Back to section list.
Main menu
The main menu provides access to common file actions:
- Create a new file
- Open an existing file
- Save the current file
- Print a report
